Pre-preparation

The FMT’s Prep systems can be supplied according to the customer needs. The machines can be equiped with 1,2,3 or 4 belts.

The preparation conveyor, type PT-2 is constructed as a two-belt system. The operators receive the raw material in plastic crates, which are then manually positioned alongside the preparation station. Next, the product is processed from the crate while the finished product is hand placed onto the upper conveyor to avoid contact with discarded material.

The waste material is directed by a chute onto the lower discharge belt. From here it can be delivered to a designated waste container.

Executed as a three-/four belt system type PT-3, the product is delivered by the supply belt, which is situated in the middle. The operator takes off the product and processes it at the preparation station. Next, the processed product is placed onto the upper conveyor to avoid contact with discarded material. The waste falls in a hopper (three-belt system) or directly on the waste belt (four-belt system).

All belts are provided with the FMT quick release system, which enables immediate access for thorough cleaning.

The preparation stations can be equipped with separate personnel foot stands which are adjustable to individual operators working heights for a highly ergonomic hand pre-processing of vegetables.

The crate holder, the working station and the waste hopper are individually interchangeable. This enables the production personnel to determine their preferred operational position (left- or right handed). The number of working positions can be designed according to the required production rates.

The work station can also be executed with several options like knife holders, de-coring drills and hand showers.

Belt cutting machine BS-2500

The FMT belt cutting machine, typ BS-2500 has been developed for high capacity production and is especially suitable for vegetable slicing companies.

This state of the art machine perfectly slices all leafy vegetables (lettuce, chicory etc.) as well as elongated products (leek, Chinese cabbage, beans, etc.). There are optional cutting attachments, such as the adjustable slicing disc with scimitar shaped blades for the slicing of cabbage and peppers. Knives, product guides, belts, belt tension mechanism and other machine parts can be quickly and easily removed for cleaning without requiring tools.

The machine satisfies the basic requirements for vegetable processing machines: meets the strict EC, GS and HACCP hygiene prescriptions

Dicing machine FD-1500

This small giant offers all the advantages of an industrial dicer with its compact housing, making it the ideal starting model for food processors with a need for flexibility.

Applications:
Apples, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, Bell peppers, pears, melon, onions, zucchini, cucumber, all types of cabbage…

Cutting principle:
The first infinitely adjustable slicing knife cuts the product in flat or crinkle cut slices. Next, the circular knives cut the slices in strips. Finally, the crosscut knife spindle cuts neat dices to the desired height.

The use of three different cutting movements optimally protects the cell structure of your vegetables and fruit and minimizes the loss of juice.

The combination of three cutting tools allows more flexibility in the choice of cutting sizes and shapes.

Flotation Washing Machine

The FMT flotation washer, type FW, has an integrated air injection system, enabling a thorough cleaning action without damaging the product.

The in-feed side of the washer is provided with water jets, which assist in the separation of the product and flume it towards the Jacuzzi section. The adjustable water flow ensures that the dwell time within the washer can be accurately programmed.

The out-feed of the washer can be realised by means of a dewatering shaker or a dewatering mesh belt. The water that passes through these systems can be cleaned by means of either a static sieve or a self rotating filter drum.

The filtered water is held in the retention overflow tank beneath the discharge of the washer where it is re-introduced to the washer through the circulation pump.

Depending on the product specifications and the desired throughput the washer can be delivered in 600, 1000 and 1500 mm width.

Options available:

Flume Washer

The FMT flume washers, type SW, has an integrated water injection system, enabling a thorough cleaning action without damaging the product. The in-feed side of the washer is provided with water jets, which assist in the separation of the product and flume it towards the washing section. The adjustable water flow ensures that the dwell time within the washer can be accurately programmed.

The out-feed of the washer can be realised by means of a dewatering shaker or a dewatering mesh belt. The water that passes through these systems can be cleaned by means of either a static sieve or a self-cleaning rotating filter.

The filtered water is held in the retention overflow tank beneath the discharge of the washer where it is re-introduced to the washer through the circulation pump.

Depending on the product specifications and he desired throughput the washer is can elivered up to lengths of 6.000 mm while the widths 600 mm.

Product in basket washing machine

The product in crate washer type FWB is easy to operate and specially designed for small batches. Together with the belt cutting machine BS1500 and the hand spinner C50 it is often used in small production facilities.

Automatic vertical centrifuge C-1000 / C-2000

The FMT automatic vertical centrifuge lines, type C-1000 and C-2000 are designed for industrial application. The troughput for the C-1000 is approx. 1200 kg (iceberg lettuce) while the throughput for the C-2000 is approx. 1800 kg/hr.

The product which is carried from a washing machine can be transported steadily to the centrifuge by means of, for example, a supply belt. The loading-, unloading-, and centrifuging times can be adjusted continuously and are therefore suitable for nearly every desired product specification.The centrifuge has been constructed vertically. The tumbler was made from stainless-steel perforated material and lined with a Teflon coating.

The entire structure has been attached to the stable main frame by means of vibration dampers. Possible imbalances are neutralised in this way, creating a very solid construction with a long life. The tumbler is closed at the bottom by means of a flexible valve. This valve has been constructed in such a way that the valve is properly sealed during the centrifuging. This valve moves up and down by means of an air cylinder, so that the product can easily leave the machine at the bottom after the centrifuging. The machine comes with an air knife, which has been installed vertically alongside the drum, so that more adhesive products can leave the drum without any problem.

The centrifuge line has been equipped with a stainless central control box in a splaying-proof IP 66 version. All components have been included in this for operating the centrifuges mentioned above, together with the supply- and outlet belt. The necessary safety- and emergency stops have also been considered in order to increase safety, so that the CE regulations will be fully met.

The machine is furthermore fully accessible by means of two folding doors, so that the cleaning will only take a few minutes. Since the loading and unloading of the heavy baskets etc. will be a thing of the past with this solution, the operating personnel can be reduced to only one person.

The machine is easy to operate by means of a clear touch screen. This touch screen has been installed in the door of the central control panel. The touch screen works in combination with a PLC, which has also been installed in the central control panel. The centrifuge’s frequency-adjusted drive engine consists of a frequency control with brake resistance. The central control box can both be fitted to the machine (standard) or in a low-currency room outside the production room. When the control box is placed outside the production room, the machine must be equipped with a remote control panel. The touch screen will then be installed in the remote control panel instead of in the central control panel door. At your request, the control panel can either be installed at the right-hand side or on the left-hand side of the machine. The remote control can be delivered optionally.

The included software offers the possibility to pre-program 99 centrifuge programs. Operating the touch screen takes place on two levels. Level 1 only gives access to switching the machine on and off and entering a program choice. Level 2 gives access to changing the centrifuging parameters by means of an access code.

In the GST version, the machine comes with a monochrome touch screen. A colour screen is available against extra price.

    • number of discharge valve open/close
    • airknife continuously or pulsating during unloading

Automatic horizontal centrifuge

The FMT automatic vertical centrifuge lines, type C-1010/H, are designed for industrial application. The throughput is approx. 1200 kg (iceberg lettuce).

In order to empty the drum after centrifuging the drum is slightly tipped by means of an air cylinder, so that the product can easily leave the machine after the centrifuging. Hand spinner

The vegetable centrifuge type C-50 has been developed for centrifuging batches of various kinds of vegetables, as well as for whole leaves and other delicate products. On the machine the centrifuging time and speed can be adjusted. Furthermore, the machine can be supplied with a slow start for fragile lettuces and uncut leafy vegetables, as well as a ‘left-right’ function where the basket twists sequentially in both directions during the spinning process. This gives an optimum dewatering for coarsely cut products or whole leaves. Depending on the product, a maximum of 10 kg per batch can be processed.

In the basic version the machine is also available with fixed speed and fixed spinning time.

Air Drying Systems

The FMT Double belt suction dryers consists of 2 independent driven belts. The first belt can also be used as a dewatering belt in case the system will be connected to a washer.

Speed of the belts can be adjusted on the inverters which are mounted in the control panel. Each belt is driven by a drum motor and cleaned by an air knife.

Fans, 4 in total suck air at high speed through the product and the top part of the belt, while removing droplets of water.

The system saves water, reduces product damage, increases capacity and improves dryness.

Optional the machine can be equipped with an agitation system. This system knocks from the underside against the belt so the product on the belt jumps up.

While the product is transported over the two belts in combination with 4 suction pipes attached water is separated from the product. By using this technique a unique drying process is created while the final quality of the product will improve and the shelf life of the product is increased.

The FMT double belt suction dryer comes, with an endless woven perforated plastic belt, fabricated from food-resistant synthetic material, Widely constructed, good accessibility. Cleaning-friendly construction (HACCP).

Conveyor systems

For the transportation of all processed products, commensurate with customer specification and factory application.

The drive of the transport belts can be by means of motor gearbox or drum motor. The belt can be simply adjusted (tracked) on both sides of the frame. Optionally the belt can be provided with a quick release system for cleaning purposes.

All transport belts can be provided with approved food quality belts in blue, white or open type segmented belts or plastic wire mesh belt.

Flat conveyor belts are used for horizontally moving products. Elevator belts can be also be provided with flighted belts to integrate onto the flat conveyors. This type of belt is manufactured with a product holding hopper. Transportation of wet product can be customised for clients individual requirements e.g. to include product re-arrangers, vacuum water extraction or air knife removers.

Flash Dipper

The FMT flash dipper is specially developed to work with anti-oxidants like Nature Seal, which require only a short dipping process. Optionally the machine can be equipped with a conductivity/analyzer controller and a dosing unit as well as a heatexchanger for cooling the product during the dipping process. This machine contains less than 100 litres of water.

Dipping Machine

The dipping tank is used for fruit such as apples, which require a controlled contact time with water (with or without additives).

The product is collected in a bath with rotary paddle drums. The drums are mounted over the length of the dip compartment. The product can be continually loaded into the machine. The paddle drums rotate, thus submerging everything below the water surface. The discharge of the product is on the opposite side of the infeed by means of a dewatering shaker or dewatering belt. Optionally the machine can be provided with a drum filter as well as an internal heat exchanger to cool down the product during the dipping operation.

Dwell times are controlled with average parameters between 1-5 minutes.

The dipping tank is completely manufactured in stainless steel and equipped with a drain valve. This machine can be made completely accessible for easy cleaning and maintenance.
