Abrasive Peelers
The FMT peeling machines are suitable for the continuous peeling of root products such as potatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, red beets, celariac etc. Continuous roller peeler as well as batch peelers both with abrasive surface in which the skin of the potato is removed mechanically. Potatoes supply by a conveyor.
The continuous peelers have rollers who are constructed in a drum in which a screw transport the product to the discharge opening. The drum construction has the advantage that the product is running with a low speed. The waste can be discharged underneath the machine with our without water. The drives of the drum, rollers and screw are variable by frequency control converters.
The abrasive surface of the continous peelers can peel off ca.800 kg./hour. Peeling with a waste of ca. 25% gives an input of 3200 kg./hour if the grain on the rollers is in a good condition. All depending on the skin and quality of the peeled product.
The continuous peeling machines are easy to clean and to maintenance. On both side you can open the covers for cleaning and maintenance. The whole machine in accordance with CE regulations.
A control panel can be supplied, which controls the number of revolutions of the peeling rollers and the transport auger can be adjusted (independent of each other). The desired peeling result can be adapted optimally to every type of product.
Filling Unit
FMT supplies filling systems for filling in bags or crates by weight or volume.
Bag fillers range from basic stand-alone units to sophisticated systems to match the budget and capacity requirements of each customer’s application. Each of these configurations delivers optimum performance across specific capacity ranges with maximum cost-effectiveness.
Box tipping systems
FMT supplies box tippers for gentle tipping of various products. The box tipper is executed in stainless steel and with electrical/hydraulic operation. Boxes can be moved in at ground level. A product sensor controls the discharge valve based on the desired product flow. The box tipper is suitable for boxes with potatoes, carrots, onions and other root crop.
Destoning Machines
The screw de-stoner can be used in conjunction with all root crops. The integration of this system into a processing line dramatically reduces the potential for extreme wear and tear to associated equipment further along the installation. The screw de-stoner is constructed with a reception hopper with a vertical transport screw. The screw is driven by a reduction gearbox.
The circular water filled hopper receives the product to be de-stoned and in combination with the rotational action of the vertical screw auger draws the water and crop gently up the tube supported by the regular closed screw. The rotational action raises the product allowing the water to gravitate down the side of the auger. Heavy particles with negative buoyancy fall back into the base of the circular hopper where they can be collected for removal through an inspection door. Clean roduct (without stones) are transported out off the upper side of the transport screw. In the bottom there is a sieve which separates the stones and earth.
This machine is simple and effective, gives no damage to the product, is extremely durable, hard wearing and reliable and easily to clean.
The capacity of the machine depends on the size of the product, and can be up to 8 tons/hour.
Dewatering
Vibration systems can be integrated in a production line for many different purposes as for example: transport,dewatering, sorting, even distribution of product, etc.
Drum Washing Machines
The drum washing machine of FMT is used to wash potatoes and other root products.
The machine consists of a rod drum and frame. By choosing a certain distance between the rods, the maximum size of the impurities to be separated is determined.
The cleaning operation is based on a combination of water and mutual rubbing together of products. In order to optimize the rubbing effect, the quantity of product can be regulated by a sliding plate at the discharge side of the drum. By hand or automatically. Cleaning with water is achieved by means of sprays and/or water bath.
Both possibilities are freely adjustable. In this way you can choose the optimal cleaning method for each kind of contamination, without increasing water consumption.

Trimming tables
The FMT roller inspection table, type IRT, consists of a transport system with transport rollers provided with a grip profile. The transport rollers are fitted to heavy duty plastic drive chains, which, when drive, a rotating movement directs to the rollers.
The product is then rotated so that visual inspection can take place over the entire product on the table. The transport rollers are easy to change. The roller inspection table can be placed after a processing machine. The processed product can be delivered onto the roller inspection table where it is inspected by quality control inspection people. The roller inspection tables can be supplied in several of lengths, from 2.000 to 5.000 mm and in several widths.

Transport Systems
For the transportation of all processed products, commensurate with customer specification and factory application.
The drive of the transport belts can be by means of motor gearbox or drum motor. The belt can be simply adjusted (tracked) on both sides of the frame. Optionally the belt can be provided with a quick release system for cleaning purposes.
All transport belts can be provided with approved food quality belts in blue, white or open type segmented belts or plastic wire mesh belt.
Flat conveyor belts are used for horizontally moving products. Elevator belts can be also be provided with flighted belts to integrate onto the flat conveyors. This type of belt is manufactured with a product holding hopper. Transportation of wet product can be customised for clients individual requirements e.g. to include product re-arrangers, vacuum water extraction or air knife removers.For the transportation of all processed products, commensurate with customer specification and factory application.

Transport Screws
By means of the transport screw of FMT a large variety of products can be transported.
Products are fed into the hopper of the transport screw by hand or automatically. The installation consists of a body and a screw shaft with a fully welded screw. If desired, the body can be provided with a double wall to nable the product to be heated.
Depending on the product to be transported, the transport screw can be installed at various angles.
Possible executions:
- omega, U-shaped or closed body
- open or closed screw
- protected by e.g. interlocked hinged hatches or bar grid
- with motor reductor or motor variator
